HMM Liger Zero Panzer Prototype

 HMM Liger Zero Panzer Prototype

Well, after a year of work (Started Aug. 2016 -> Finished Aug. 2017) I finished the HMM Liger Zero Panzer Prototype.  I really stepped out of my comfort zone on this with a lot of firsts.
First airbrushed HMM kit, first kit with scratch building, first kit with LEDs.  Needless to say I learned A LOT!  Anyways, enjoy some pictures of my hard work!

The version known as the Liger Zero Panzer Prototype was only seen in one frame of the opening sequence.  Presumably, it was what the Panzer was originally going to look like before we got the finalized green version seen in the episodes. I've always liked the more deadly, creepy look of this version, so I decided to have a go at recreating it.

List of Mods (and pics):

'Bump' added to part P18 (Cockpit)

Part N3 (eye glass) replaced with eyes and custom color eye pieces
Vents added to part P4 and P5 (white side body armor)
Parts G3 and all tail pieces replaced with a (more) pose-able tail (inspired by rx930_kazu on instagram)
Pose-able claws via cutting plastic between the toes of M4/J1 parts combo

Vents added to the tail missile pod
Redesign of O9 and O13 facial side armor pieces and bulked up U5/ U6 for a wider face

Joined the ears permanently, made them thicker and added vents

Extended O10/O11 "whisker" pieces to points

Added 6 LEDs (1 to the core, 1 to the cockpit, 2 in each cannon) Hybrid Cannon pics soon!

Unfortunately during final assembly, I must have snapped a solder point as the hybrid cannon LEDs are having trouble.  I'd fix it now but I don't have the heart to rip apart the kit now!

If you'd like to see the kit in person it will be at the 2017 Southern California Gunpla Model Competition competing in the 'Other Mecha' category.  Stop by and see some amazing mecha kits and meet TONS of people with a passion for plastic models of giant robots!
